The Dero Group in Nieuw-Vennep has acquired the robotics and convenience product portfolio of Selo in Hengelo (Ov.). The main reasons for the acquisition are to expand the current portfolio, develop new market segments and promote innovation.

The Dero Group is a Dutch company that automates handling processes around the world. To increase productivity and improve working conditions, the group offers its customers customized solutions, with a strong emphasis on robotics and hygienic design. The company has around 150 employees and has all the knowledge needed to integrate industrial robots from leading suppliers such as Fanuc, Staübli, Schneider, ABB and Yaskawa.

ROBOTS FOR FOOD INDUSTRY

The Dero Group has been realizing automatic (robotic) handling solutions in the food industry, particularly in the cheese and convenience industries, for more than twenty years. By acquiring Selo's robotics and convenience portfolio, the Newenne-based company adds[ vegetables and luxury fruits to its main focus areas.

The group has the drive to always make the most of challenges and to persevere until the goal is reached. The main goal is to be able to serve the market ever better. The addition of Selo's robotic and convenience solutions gives the group an even more solid and stronger product portfolio. It is a good addition that brings the company another step closer to achieving its goal.

One of the products Dero Group is acquiring is the Speedpacker. This robotic cell for packing avocados was developed by Selo together with Nature's Pride and can efficiently pack 340 avocados per minute without damaging them. The Speedpacker and Selo's sandwich lines are a good addition to the Dero Group's existing solutions. Like Selo, the Nieuw-Vennep-based company wants to continue to innovate and develop together with its customers.
